New Season Prayer

It’s a New Season...& In this Season I pray that you don’t get weary in well doing, but if you do get weary, I pray you run to the Father for rest! This Season I Pray that you remember that times will come when you’ll feel pressed on every side, but not crushed! You may feel perplexed, but not in despair! You may be persecuted, but not abandoned! You may be struck down, but not destroyed! I Pray that you continue to fight the good fight, & when you’re hit, and stumble, you won’t stay down, but your enemy will stumble and fall! I pray that after you’ve endured the weeping of the night, that you then lean into the joy of a new mercy filled morning! This Season I Pray that you Endure to the End and that you understand that love Endures All Things! I pray, in Jesus Name, that this new season, would be your best season yet!

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." ~2 Corinthians 4:8-9

The Old is Gone

Have you ever thought about how fascinating it is that, in Christ, something old can be made new. It’s one thing to take that old worn out sofa, strip it down, re-cushion it, reupholster it and make someone say, “wow this FEELS brand new”. Or to get that dent in your car fixed, painted, and shined up so that it 'LOOKS good as new', and while you’re at it then get the car detailed to give it that 'good ole new car SMELL' as we call it. But no matter how much we make something feel, look or even smell new, we know, it’s still old. But that’s not the case with our Heavenly Father. When you decided to belong to Christ, you didn’t just look new, or feel new or even smell new. You were MADE a new creation! Meaning not only has the new come, but the old...is gone.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" ~2 Corinthians 5:17

The Beginning…Again

Sometimes the scariest thing you’ll ever do, can also be the most rewarding. Like Starting Over. Imagine taking everything you’ve written for that story, or all the ideas you had laid out for that project, or all the plans you had lined up for your life, scraping it, & starting from scratch. I’d say that's pretty scary. But It’s in those moments that you have to remember that God wants you to be strong & courageous & to not be afraid or discouraged. See, sometimes some of the best things come from a fresh start and a fresh start only comes from facing the uneasiness of releasing the past. Today you should decide that because God is with you, you’re not going to let fear keep you from the beautiful potential or the promising future, that’s found in beginning again.

“Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." ~Joshua 1:9

Copy & Paste Patience

I can remember asking it over & over again as a kid, and I can remember hearing it over and over again as a parent. That inevitable question whenever more than one child was participating in an activity, "Is It My Turn Yet!". Well unfortunately as adults a lot of times it seems as if much hasn’t changed. The pain can seem excruciating when you have to wait in wing, while you watch others get blessed. And If you’re honest, it can make you want to “copy & paste” someone else’s life onto yours...or, you can let God be God & reject the copy and paste life. I know it can be hard when you’ve been waiting and waiting on God to give you any form of breakthrough. But be patient, keep enduring, & wait for your turn. God hasn’t forgotten about you, & you know, that our God...never fails!

"Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the Lord." ~Psalm 27:14

Driving Lessons

Recently I was teaching one of my children how to drive, and as she was having a difficult time in the beginning stages, I found myself becoming more and more compassionate towards anyone who was learning how to do anything new. It reminded me of when the children of Israel had to learn what it meant to belong to God. You & I know they made some pretty bad choices during that time, some that came with them receiving warnings, but then mercy. See, after they had been talked to about making the wrong decisions the prophet Isaiah then says to them, “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion”. Trying to do something new can be difficult enough without being told all the things you aren’t doing right. Today, on the road of life, how about you let God do the driving, and be driven to a destination called, more compassionate.

"Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!" ~Isaiah 30:18
